Aston Martin DB9
The Aston Martin DB9 is a 2 +2 GT of UK car maker Aston Martin . The car was first exhibited to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003 and is available as a coupe or convertible as the DB9 Volante.
DB7 follows the DB9 Vanquish in design and building. Ian Callum provided the design and a similar radiator with front vents at the bottom as the DB9. Later the design was a bit refined by Henrik Fisker.
The DB9 is build on a new platform, the VH Platform (Vertical / horizontal platform), which is used for all new Aston Martin models. The car has an aluminum frame and the body is aluminum. The dry weight is thus about 1710 kg.
The engine is a 6L V12 that provides 455 horsepower. The DB9 has rear wheel drive and the motor is placed at the front. It can have automatic, or a traditional six-speed gearbox.
In 2004 at the Detroit Motor Show a convertible version of the DB9 was on display. It was names The DB9 Volante convertible. Henrik Fisker had made the design. In 2004, Aston Martin presented the race version, the DBR9 . This would definitely return to the racing car brand and a total of three racing teams compete in the Le Mans in 2005 and 2006. Early in 2006 Aston Martin launched the DBRS9, a leaner, cheaper version of the DBR9. This car is built to FIA GT3 regulations.

The Aston Martin DBS sports car is made by the British company Aston Martin. Aston Martin DBS was already seen in 1967 in at GT-model. This modern car replaces the flagship of the brand, Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.
History
The car was first seen in the Bond movie Casino Royale . However, during the filming of the movie the DBS was still largely on the drawing board. Three test models of the Aston Martin DB9 were converted to a DBS-lookalike. The unveiling took place at an event called ” Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance” in 2007. The car appeared in a new color called “Casino Ice”. During the test sessions the Aston Martin DBRS9 sign was painted on the car, and it turned out that this was only done to confuse the photographers.
Engine & Performance
The DBS has a 6.0 liter V12 which is also found in the DBR9 . The engine has undergone changes to be ready for the DBS. The end result is 510pk (380kW) at 6500 rpm / min. and 569Nm of torque at 5900 rpm / min. The V12 has an additional air intake that opens above 5500 rpm – in this way additional air supplied is fed to the engine with better cooling. This results in a 0-100km / h time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 307 km / h (191mp / h). The Aston Martin DBS is the first for the road which is equipped with ceramic brakes, which provides a weight reduction of 12.5 kg. The car is equipped with a manual six-speed gearbox.
Volante
In January 2008 it was announced that a convertible model of the DBS would be presented. This is called DBS Volante following the DB9 Volante. The engine is the same as the coupe, a 6.0L V12. The DBS Volante was shown in March 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show.
